William Spier re-used Suspense scripts on other series and vice versa...

You can tell when William Spier really liked a script because he used it again. Aside from his Suspense producership, he also produced The Clock for 13 weeks in 1948 for ABC. He produced 39 weeks of Philip Morris Playhouse for the 1948-1949 season for CBS.

These were on Suspense prior to being used on Philip Morris Playhouse:

  • August Heat
  • Banquo's Chair
  • Cat and Mouse (the Suspense episode is considered one of the worst and starred Sonny Tufts; Spier believed in the script enough to do it again on PMP with Dennis O'Keefe).
  • Diary of Sophronia Winters
  • The Night Man
  • Spoils for Victor
  • Swift Rise of Eddie Albright (retitled as Going Down, Please)

These were on Philip Morris Playhouse but were performed again on Suspense:

  • Four Hours To Kill
  • Lady Killer
  • One Millionth Joe
  • Search for Isabel
  • The Silver Frame

This was on The Clock before it was on Suspense:

  • Search for Isabel

These Suspense scripts were performed again on The Clock:

  • Can't We Be Friends
  • John Barbey and Son
  • House in Cypress Canyon
  • Bank Holiday
