This Robert Richards script was performed almost two years prior with George Murphy and Nancy Coleman. This time, it’s Ozzie and Harriet who do so well as horrible and selfish people who would stop at nothing to get what they want. It’s casting against type done well. Details about the 1946 broadcast with Murphy and Coleman are at:

For many years, this Ozzie and Harriet broadcast was the only version of Too Little to Live On in circulation. The 1946 broadcast only became available about 2010 when an AFRS transcription was found. This 1947 is the better performance of the two… because it’s so hard to think of the Nelsons behaving in the manner of the storyline.
In the closing announcements, William Spier explains how Suspense is expanding to an hour-long format.
