Phil Meeder and Jane Huszagh star in the second production of an enjoyable Sam Pierce script about the various obstacles parents have when trying to rush to the hospital for the birth of a child. A flat tire, a missed drop-off of their eight-year-old son which means he has to go to the hospital with them, traffic roaring past as the tire change is attempted, and torrential rain, combine with the need to get to the hospital to make an exciting story. It is sentimental in many of its moments.
The 1959-06-21 production with Frank Lovejoy and Joan Banks had the title “Ivy’s a Lovely Name.” The words “for a Girl” were marked out on that script, but return in full for this production. Details about that broadcast are at

Robson’s original opening monologue from the 1959 production is read by Stuart Metz for this broadcast.
The script cover with cast and recording details for this broadcast is not available. It was likely pre-recorded on Thursday, September 29, 1960.
The surviving recording is a very listenable network aircheck from WROW that is in much better sound than what had been previously circulating among hobbyists.
